If you haven't seen part 1, you absolutely should!
As previously mentioned, my kids and I once raised butterflies. Butterflies have four stages of life. At stage one they are little eggs, at stage two they are caterpillars, at stage three, they become a chrysalis, and finally a butterfly. The whole cycle starts over and over after all that.
These are called painted butterflies, I believe. The little jar provided food for the caterpillars for a time.

We began a daily observation looking for a change.
We had a tent for the butterflies. We discussed how the monarch migrates to Mexico and observed other butterflies.
Craft:
Supplies:
glue
pipe cleaners
google eyes
color pom poms
glue as many pom-poms together as you like, take a small piece of pipe cleaner and make an antenna. Glue on google eyes and leave to dry.

| Just before becoming a chrysalis, the caterpillars go into a J shape. |
| We needed to give the butterflies lots of sweets |
