Shakespeare, the Baird, was born and raised in Stratford-Upon-Avon to John Shakespeare who was a glover (he made gloves) and Mary Arden.
He was the third child of eight and the eldest surviving son.
At the age of 18, he married 26-year-old Anne Hathaway, who gave him three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith.
He was an actor and part owner of "Lord Chamberlain's Men" which was eventually changed to "King's Men."
Shakespeare created most of his known work between 1589 and 1613.
The Globe was owned by Shakespeare's company built-in 1599 using timber from an earlier theatre.
"On June 29, 1613, the Globe Theatre went up in flames during a performance of Henry the Eighth. A theatrical cannon, set off during the performance, misfired, igniting the wooden beams and thatching. According to one of the few surviving documents of the event, no one was hurt except a man whose burning breeches were put out with a bottle of ale. It was rebuilt in the following year.
Like all the other theatres in London, the Globe was closed down by the Puritans in 1642. It was pulled down in 1644, or slightly later—the commonly cited document dating the act to 15 April 1644 has been identified as a probable forgery—to make room for tenements."
Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616.Baird- Scottish occupational name from Gaelic poets and minstrels were called Baird.

Art Project:
William Shakespeare was someone that Queen Elizabeth I admired a great deal. The Queen wore incredibly ornate (decorative) tiaras. The art challenge is to make your own crown or tiara. Decorate it up with everything you can.
