Pizza Party!

A few years ago I was teaching my kids fractions.  Obviously, this is one whole. It can also be expressed as 8/8.

One of my kids ate a piece. that was 1/8 of the pizza. so we had 7/8 left.

Then another one of my kids ate another 1/8 of the pizza.  I now had 2/8 left which reduces down to 1/4. I then had 6/8 left and that too reduces down to 3/4!

I have three kids and my youngest decided he was mad, crazy-hungry. so 3/8 is now missing leaving me with 5/8.

One of the neighbor kids visited and was hungry. Now 4/8 are missing so that means we are down to 1/2.  You know what that means? We also have 4/8 pizza left which is the same as 1/2!

I decided I wanted a piece too.  We now have 5/8 gone and 3/8 are what's left.

My husband wanted a piece 6/8 are now gone.  Reduced that's  3/4.  2/8 of that pizza is left or reduced 1/4 of that pizza.

My mom stopped by and wanted a slice.  We are now down to 7/8 eaten.  There is no reducing 7 is a prime and primes are special because only one and itself can go into it!  We now have 1/8 of that pizza left.

My husband decided he was ravenous and ate that last piece. 8/8 was eaten and any number like 1/1, 2/2., 3/3/, 4/4 just means it's a whole.  The whole pizza is eaten, gone, finito.
